Acne is a very common skin problem that affects all of us at one point or another. Teenagers are normally plagued with this skin problem, as acne is usually a result of hormonal changes in the body. That being said, some people get acne periodically throughout their life and it can even affect those that are in their fifties. Besides hormones, other causes of acne include bowel toxicity, liver function, and diet. Although hormonal changes are not usually controllable, by taking control of what we put into our bodies, as well as taking proper steps to prevent it we can stop acne in its tracks. Here are three tips for acne prevention.
2. Have a skin care regimen. Wash your face no more than twice per day (but no less than once) and use a very mild cleanser with no harsh additives. If you are washing your skin more than twice each day, it can dry it out and lead to an overproduction of oils which can block pores leading to acne. Also remember to use a moisturizer that is full of nourishing vitamins.
3. Wash your pillowcase and clothing often. Dead skin cell and bacteria build up on your pillowcase in no time. These germs can cause acne or even make it worse. Furthermore, if your clothing is not washed regularly, the same thing can cause body acne. Gym clothing especially, should only be worn once before it is washed.
