3 Ways to Suppress Your Appetite

Many people associate diet and weight loss with extreme measures such as crash dieting. Fortunately there are several ways to suppress your appetite and not suffer through extreme hunger pangs to lose those extra pounds. Of course the odd grumble of the stomach from time to time is normal, but by following these three tips you will be well on your way to weight loss without having to rely on extreme dieting measures.

1. Eat high fibre foods. Foods that are satisfying and filling without having excess calories are great for dieting. Apples are a prime example. They not only take a long time to eat but are full of vitamins, nutrients, fiber, and even water. This fruit is also a natural anti inflammatory which may decrease the signs of aging.

2. Start your meal off with a salad or small bowl of soup. Eating a small salad before a meal will trick your body into thinking its not very hungry by the time the meal comes. Soup does much the same though it is mostly the water in the broth that is filling. Sticking to low calorie healthful foods will damper your hunger for more calorie laden meals. Ensure that your salad has little or no dressing or that the soup you are eating is low in sodium.

3. Use an appetite suppressant. Products that contain Hoodia are extremely useful in suppressing the appetite. Other products such as Konjac root work wonders as well. Konjac root actually expands up to 17 times in size which will create a feeling of being full for hours.

Along with eating the right foods and taking appetite suppressants that work, ensure that you are getting plenty of exercise to get yourself lean and ready for summer.
