4 Top Foods For Beautiful Skin

A good skin care regime should include a diet filled with skin nourishing nutrients. If you eat junk food your complexion will reflect it and your skin will be less than perfect. Eating foods with trans fat or that are processed can cause acne, blotchiness, redness, and other skin problems. Here are four of the top foods to eat to promote beautiful skin from the inside out.

1.Yogurt. Low fat yogurt (preferrably plain and organic) is great for both your digestive system and your skin. One the most important components of skin health is vitamin A and yogurt is one of the best sources of this vitamin.

2.Berries. Blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries are all full of antioxidants which are a must for healthy, youthful skin. Everyday sun exposure and exposure to pollutants can cause damage to skin cells which can result in wrinkles and sun spots. Load up and berries and you will get enough antioxidants to fight this cellular damage and keep your skin smooth and clear.

3.Salmon. Salmon is one of the best foods that you can eat. It is a high source of Omega 3s which are healthy fats. Essential fatty acids are responsible for healthy cell membranes because they act as barriers to harmful things and as the passageway for nutrients to cross in and out and for waste products to get in and out of the cell.

4.Olive oil. A good quality extra virgin olive oil can do wonders for your skin if ingested daily. Eating good quality olive oil is a trick used by many Italians for years and it keeps skin lubricated, soft, and supple. You should have no more than two tablespoons per day-try adding it to a smoothie so that there is no taste.

Along with eating right, make sure to only wash your face with very gentle cleansers and do not wash more than twice a day. Washing your face excessively or with products containing chemicals strips the skin of its natural oils which can lead to skin irritation and dryness.

The soap can dry your skin out, so be sure to use a good moisterizer. I like to use plain Vitamen E cream. This will also help to prevent wrinkles and is an excellent source of moisture but wont clog your pores.
