Addicted to Carbs

Most people don&undefined;t realize how addicted to carbs they actually are. Until you try to change your eating habits or go on a cleanse, it&undefined;s hard to really notice how much carb food we eat. Although some carbs are good for you, most of us eat too many. The reason is that they are an easy fix to feel full and they over you that heavy lazy feeling and thus many of them they are labeled “comfort food”. The combination is deadly. Carbohydrates make us feel laxy, heavy, relaxed because our bodies need to use an enormous amount of energy just to digest the food.

Taking the time to learn what amount of carbohydrates is healthy and what amount is too much will help you start re-balancing your meals with more proteins, vegetables and fruit. Try to have meals without carbs in them, is another great way of changing the habit. However, the best way is to go on a cleanse. When you go on a cleanse , you notice right away what foods you automatically reach for when you are getting hungry. Having to stop yourself, really teaches you about your eating habits. Making conscious decisions to leave out carbs for a meal or consciously not eating for awhile, you will notice that your energy level and clarity improve. Most people who done a cleanse, want to continue doing them once or twice a year because they feel &undefined;reborn&undefined;. Again, carbohydrates and important part of your diet, but they need to be moderated so you can feel full of energy and not constantly weighed down .

In many cases it comes down to the types of carbs you eat. Eat less refined and processed foods and switch to whole foods (i.e. choose whole wheat bread over white bread). Food made from sugars are also a bad carb choice, try to get your sweet fixes through healthy foods such as apple sauce and other fruit based foods.
