Essential oils, they sit on the shelves of various health shops in tiny bottles with great exotic names, but what exactly are they?
Essential oils are oils extracted at a high concentration from various plants, trees, flowers or spices. They are used for several different things including perfumes, aroma therapy, massage and relaxation, and are said to have long list of health benefits.
1. They help stimulate circulation, which strengthens the immune system.
2. They assist in relaxation, letting your mind calm and body rest.
3. They are antiseptic and antibacterial, which means they can help ward off infections.
Choosing which oil is best for you takes a certain amount of understanding about yourself, and some knowledge of the different properties of the oil. Talking to an experienced practitioner is always recommended, since some oils can be dangerous if used improperly.
Some of the methods for the oils include using them for massage (in a diluted form), or in incense burner, a few drops into the bath, or even putting a few drops on a light bulb ring to allow the essence to slowly be released into a room.
