Chiropractic Care Helps Circulation and Sleep

Chiropractic care is a hands-on health care practice that focuses on treatment and preventative care for the spine, pelvis, nervous system, and joints. Chiropractors are trained health care professionals who develop and carry out a treatment plan, recommend exercises, and provide other forms of counseling to their patients. Counseling provided can range from nutritional advice to dietary and lifestyle suggestions. Many chiropractors deal mainly with the issues of the spine for people who have disorders from lifestyle or otherwise such as a car crash.

A trained chiropractor can help people heal in many ways, most of which are unknown. They can help to improve circulation, remove lactic acid from the body, deliver more oxygen and nutrients to the cells, increase movement and flexibility, and reduce soreness and pain. Most people associate chiropractors with the treatment of back pain or headaches but they can do much more than that. Many people who visit a chiropractor regularly also improved increased sleep , better posture, more efficient body functions, and an improvement of athletic functions. A study was conducted in Sweden in the late 90’s and was reported in The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics 1999. A group of interviewers asked 20 patients that had just received treatment from 87 Swedish chiropractors. The patients were given a questionnaire asking if they had experienced any improved non-musculoskeletal symptoms after their adjustment. Out of 1504 patients who had recently visited their chiropractor, 21-25% of cases reported at least one non-musculoskeletal benefit after their adjustment. 26% reported that it was easier to breathe, 25% had a gastrointestinal benefit (such as better digestion), 14% felt their vision had improved, and 14% felt they had gained a circulation improvement.

As with any other medical professional, word of mouth from friends or family is a great way to find a good chiropractor. You may also wish to find a properly trained chiropractor online as many areas offer informational websites with referrals to trained chiropractic doctors.
