The Healing Qualities of Green Tea

Green Tea isn’t only tasty –it’s also great for you! Green tea has been considered one of the more potent healers for over four thousand years in Chinese medicine. Now, with an insurgence of Eastern medicine into Western philosophy the healing properties of the plant are being discovered by the scientific world, which isn’t really a surprise to those who have been touting its benefits for years.

The reason green tea is so potently healthy is that it is loaded with something called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is an antioxidant credited with an enormous ability to heal. It has been linked to diminishing the presence of cancer cells, while not hurting healthy ones. It can lower LDL cholesterol and is great for cardiovascular health.

Green teas come from the Camellia sinensis plant, native to Asia, but can be found all over the world. It can be processed into extract formulas, ground up, or dried whole and when steeped in hot water the properties expand to create healthy brew delivering the goodness contained within the plant.

Here is just a short list of what green tea has been linked to healing:

1. Psoriasis

2. Immune function

3. Cancer

4. Arthritis

5. Infection

Green tea is widely available these days. Take some home and brew up your own, or finish a meal in a restaurant with some. Anyway you take it, green tea is great for you!
