The number of people affected by eating disorders in our society today is growing drastically. Eating disorders affect not only the person suffering from the disease but their friends and family members as well. There are several kinds of eating disorders but anorexia and bulimia are by far the most common.

Researchers at the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit estimated that 3.5 children in every 100,000 in the UK are treated for an eating disorder, including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating.
