Co Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is an oil soluble vitamin like compound.  Coenzyme Q10 is also known as ubiquinone, ubidecarenone or simply coenzyme Q.  This nutrient is present in mitochondria and is important for the aerobic cellular respiration system.  It is therefore important to all the organs of the body, especially the heart, liver and kidneys.

Co-Enzyme Q 10 refers to a chemical group within the quinone family.  The ten refers essentially to the number of isoprenyl units in the tail of this chemical.  Co-Enzyme Q 10 is more commonly known however as a vitamin.
