Marriage…an emotional disaster for some, but rewarding and happy for many. Marriage isn’t easy and definitely has its ups and downs, but the love conquers all is a romantic notion. And marriage has benefits - a stable, loving marriage can keep a person positive, motivated, and happy.
Getting married enhances mental health, especially if you're depressed, according to a new U.S. study. The benefits of marriage for the depressed are particularly dramatic, a finding that surprised the professor-student team being the research, reports Reuters. "We actually found the opposite of what we expected," said Adrianne Frech, a doctoral sociology student at Ohio State University. "Just mattering to someone else can help alleviate symptoms of depression."
‘Til death do us part. Doesn’t sound very motivating and optimistic but love can do wonders for people and marriage can add stability to one’s life. With everyone jumping in and out of marriages these days, it doesn’t seem to be sacred anymore. Maybe it is more of a tool now to treat depression and loneliness than a lifelong relationship commitment.
