Sports Reign Over Men’s Health & Reruns Just Won’t Do

With the Fall sports in full swing, you may want to watch the health of the men in your family. They’re bad enough at getting to the doctor the rest of the year but this hockey or football season it seems there may be more reason to worry. Some men may take their sports too seriously, delaying trips to hospital emergency rooms during major sports events.

A University of Maryland study looked at the number of men admitted to the Medical Center in the four hours following nearly 800 televised games over three years. More men were seen in the hours after games than during the events or on non-game days. The study was designed to see whether there was an increase in visits by men once games were over, and that's exactly what was found.

Do you want this game to be your last? Experts claim men should not risk their health by putting off going to the emergency room because they want to see the final results of a football game. Common sense? You’d think so. But men are crazy about their sports, and this confirms it. What good is a sports fan in a coffin?
