Portion Control, Portion Control, Portion Control

Everyone watching their weight has heard this term a thousand times. And with good reason - it’s essential to weight management. Here’s a few more facts to ensure you keep your servings small.

1. Stay slim with portion-controlled meals. An oversized meal leads to an oversized body. Research has shown that people tend to overeat by more than 40% when they are served larger portions of food.

2. Do not continue eating if you feel full and there is still food left on your plate. Serve up small quantities and take another helping only if you are still very hungry.

3. Eat at regular intervals, ideally every 3-5 hours, to keep blood sugar levels stable and your metabolism in high gear.

4. One serving of pasta equals 1/2 cup of cooked pasta. The pasta serving size in most restaurants serve a dish with 4 servings of pasta! Exert portion control and order a children's serving, share your plate, or bring home leftovers.
