Sacred Healing Power of Cat's Claw

Cat’s Claw is often called “The Healing Vine of Peru”, and can grow up to 100 feet in length. It is a small tropical vine that grows in Asia, the Amazon Rainforest, and parts of South America and gets its name from the thorns placed at the base of the leaves, forming what looks like a cat’s claw. Both the bark and portions of the roots have long been used by South Americans, even dating back to Inca civilization times. History states that this plant has been used to treat ailments such as arthritis, fevers, inflammation, ulcers, fevers, and has even been used as a form of birth control.

Although cat’s claw is not as wide known as other medicinal herbs are, it is a very valuable natural herb, and is still highly protected in areas where it grows naturally. Research has shown that cat’s claw can stimulate the immune system, help to lower blood pressure, act as an antioxidant, and act as a diuretic which can rid the body of excess water being stored. This herb contains active chemical compounds called alkaloids, tannins, and other phytochemicals. The alkaloids are what give cat’s claw the ability to boost the body’s immune system, and therefore fight colds, fevers, and other ailments.

Cat&undefined;s claw is also currently being researched for many other uses, but there has ye to be conclusive findings on its effectiveness. Scientists are focusing on cat’s claw to treat Crohn’s disease, certain types of lupus, Alzheimer’s disease, and even HIV, just to name a few. Cat’s claw is available as a supplement in capsule form, and should be taken as directed.
