The Pursuit Of Happiness Is A Choice

Consider yourself a pretty happy, go-lucky kinda guy or gal? Or more of a pessimist who lets your negative emotions get the best of you? Expert research has shown that your aptitude for happiness is largely determined by your genes. But some psychologists believe happiness can be pursued by thwarting negative emotions and fostering positive emotions. These 7 Happiness Strategies will help you pave the road to contentment.

# 1: Don't Worry, Choose Happy - make a conscious choice to boost your happiness. Make happiness a goal and take advantage of opportunities to learn how to be happy.

#2: Cultivate Gratitude - promote happiness by performing a daily gratitude exercise by listing a few things that make you grateful.

#3: Foster Forgiveness - don’t dwell on your anger, hurt, and desire for vengeance. Forgiveness reduces the power of bad events to create bitterness and resentment.

#4: Counteract Negative Thoughts and Feelings - you can practice meditation, rhythmic breathing, yoga, or relaxation techniques to quell anxiety and promote serenity.

#5: Remember, Money Can’t Buy Happiness - research shows that once income climbs above the poverty level, more money brings very little extra happiness.

#6: Foster Friendship – foster close friendships with people who care about you. Binding social ties prevent depression and increase the joy in your life..

#7: Engage in Meaningful Activities - People tend to be happier when in a state in which your mind becomes thoroughly absorbed in a meaningful task that challenges your abilities.

If you have a cheery nothing-gets-me-down attitude twenty-four-seven, consider yourself lucky. If the crazy, busy, harsh world has left you a little hardened, all is not lost…choose your happiness! If you’re happy, the world around you becomes a better place.

We feel it is just not

We feel it is just not possible to put on a smile and be always happy especially with our mounting tensions and problems. It's true life is not a bed of roses but we have to learn to establish the right balance with our lives. We work like maniacs for financial freedom which most of us think can give happiness, but it's actually a deep misconception. Money can never fill that empty space in our lives and it's not at all difficult to become a happy person but we overlook all those things which can make us happy and instead tend to lean more towards the darker side of life. Happiness do not come only in big packages, it comes everyday in small packages as well. I feel everyone deserves to be happy in life and it starts from your heart, from your home.
