Granted, it is only September. Summer isn’t even officially over, not even close. But as responsible pro-active adults it is time to start thinking about what is ahead: damp, cool air; snow perhaps; or maybe just a slight drop in temperature. It all comes together to form the third season – Fall.
Fall brings with it a shift in health. We are naturally tuned to slow down during the chillier months, and with that slowing comes a shift in our immune system’s ability to fight off colds and flu’s. Now is the time to start feeding our bodies with the right nutrients so that when infections and bacteria are thriving during the next couple of months we are able to fight them off.
Echinacea is one of the best natural products available to assist our immune system. It is harvested from the purple coneflower, which grows naturally all over the world, but is predominantly sourced in
Unlike like antibiotics, Echinacea doesn’t kill the bacteria living within us (we all need various bacteria’s to survive), but instead stimulates the immune cells that attack undesirable bacteria.
Echinacea can be found in pill form or in droplets and as Professor Ron Culter, who teaches at the University of East London, commented in the a recent Telegraph new article, “Echinacea has traditionally been used for prevention of colds, but recent studies suggest that it may be effective as a treatment. It may reduce the duration of illness and decreases the severity of cough, headache, and nasal congestion.”
So before the fall flu hits you, get on the Echinacea train and bring some relief to your immune system!
