Rating CellMass is s creatine delivery system. It is a blend of 4 creatine-based compounds. These compounds are combined with additional ingredients to improve creatine uptake and workout performance.
CellMass is a 2nd Generation creatine product low in calories and carbs. This makes it much more appealing than creatine products that contain mostly cheap sugars.
1. AVPT is one of the creatine blends in CellMass. It is meant to replace creatine ethyl ester malate (CEM3), which BSN is facing allegations of making false claims about. It is somewhat of an improvement, as it contains creatine and phosphates, which used together is proven better than just creatine.
The AVPT blend also includes Creatine Ethyl Ester-Beta-Alanine Dual Action Composite, which is a propriety blend known as CarnoSyn. It includes beta-alanine with is is part of dipeptide carnosine, which helps buffer hydrogen ions created during intense muscle contractions.
AVPT also includes Creatinol-o-phosphate, which is a source of creatine and phosphate that is also an alternate phosphogen for ATP production. There is also Creatine alpha-amino-n-butyrate in AVTP, which is said to be anticatabolic, but has not been even tested in animals much less humans.
2. Glutamine AKG: This is alpha-ketoglutarate, which plays a key role in transporting nitrogen through the body. However, there is not much evidence that using AKG supplements enhance athletic performance.
3. Muscle Cell Uptake Proprietary Matrix 950mg: This matrix includes Cinnulin PF, which is a cinnamon extract that significantly improves fasting blood glucose, blood pressure, and lean body mass. This matrix also includes calcium, sodium, and potassium salts to replace electrolytes lost from sweating. They also serve as secondary sources of phosphate for creating phosphocreatine.
While the AVPT blend appears complex, CellMass is actually a simple supplement. The daily dosage of two servings provides an effective amount of creatine, phosphates, and beta-alanine along with the insulin sensitizer Cinulin to improve creatine uptake. Overall the user feedback shows that it is effective as the ingredient list suggests. It even tastes good, which is a supplement rarity. (Posted on 3/6/11)
