Kirkman Hypoallergenic Melatonin Plus 100 caps supply 100 mg. of magnesium, as well as melatonin, to increase its benefits. Magnesium can provide a calming effect, and it may assist in the relaxation of nerve impulses and musculature contractions. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland that is derived from serotonin. Melatonin production is believed to be the sole function of the pineal gland.
