I have taken policosanol for over three months now to lower my cholesterol level as I appear to be allergic to statins. It is imperative that I reach and maintain a low level because my neurologist found that I had a 90% blockage in my right corroted artery for which I had an urgent operation. My left artery is 50% blocked so my family doctor is showing an interest in policosanol and will test me regularly. I will inform you of my start level and my next test result in due course. My last test result was very encouraging but I am not sure of exact reading but it was definitely quite a bit lower - I will find out next visit.
